Crownbrush 514 Deluxe Italian Badger Set

This is one of Crown brushes top selling make-up brush sets so I was excited to experiment with the brushes as I have never used brushes made from badger hair before. I was intrigued to see the quality of the hair and how it works with make-up in different forms, I was super impressed so I wanted to share with you all the uses of each brush from the set on today's blog post.

The Deluxe Italian Badger Set is an excellent combination of brush sizes and hair densities to achieve different makeup finishes made from the finest quality badger hair which is softer than sable hair and all the brushes are finished with Mahogany wood handles!

There are 10 brushes in the set which are ideal for professional makeup application and an easier application of powders to the Face and Eyes.

Deluxe Italian Badger Set Uses

Flat Top:

A Flat top brush/Buffing brush is easy to use and easily blending in powders, and applying bronzer. The durable, dense bristles offer great control and a full coverage application.

Chisel Powder:
A chisel deluxe powder brush which is perfect for applying mineral, loose powder. If you used a puff to apply your powder, use this brush to sweep away any excess.

Angled Blush:

I love to use an angled blusher brush to accentuate bone structures. Being a natural haired brush it's ideal for adding a healthy glow to cheeks, by applying a sweep of powdered blush or bronzer on the natural contours on the cheeks.

Oval Foundation:

An oval foundation brush made out of Taklon Synthetic hair. It's perfect for creating different coverage levels you desire, from light to full. The brush can be used wet or dry, to create a flawless foundation with liquids and creams.

Oval Eyeshadow:

This is a large eye shadow with soft, rounded Italian Badger bristles. This brush allows you to apply shadow from eyelid to brown bone with ease.

Dome Crease:

The brush being shaped into a dome shape is designed to draw more shadow onto the brush, allowing you to ideally smudge and blend product in order to create intense effects, including the ever-popular smoky eye.

Brow/Lash Groomer:

This is an essential in my make-up kit and is designed for defined, separated lashes and beautiful groomed brows!

Spoolie:

A spoolie brush is designed for your lashes and brows. The full head tapers to a point for easy use on any length or lash thickness.

Dense Angled:

An angled Taklon synthetic brush has so many uses! Lining, shading, or shaping the eye or eyebrow is effortless with this brush. The firm, angled synthetic bristles are ideal for applying liquid, cream, or powder based products to give you an optimal effect.

Oval Synthetic:
The soft flat yet firm synthetic bristles are specifically designed to line, contour, and blend with ease. The size of the tapered tip is ideal for reaching smaller areas and smudging liquid and cream based products.

Karla Powell Interviews Beauty Blogger Lily Pebbles from 'What I Heart Today'

I am really excited about this week’s interview on one of my favourite Beauty & V-Bloggers Lily Pebbles from 'What I Heart Today', who is a UK-based fashion and beauty blogger that I visit regularly as well as her Youtube channel which is growing in views and subscribers daily.

Has your blog proved useful career wise?

My blog is a huge part of my career. I started it at Uni and then used it in interviews as an example of my passion and hard work. It helped me get some of my best jobs and now I'm actually blogging full time, so it's definitely proved useful!

How were you inspired to start your own YouTube channel and Beauty Blog?

As I said I started my blog at Uni as part of my Marketing course but I'd been reading blogs for years and wanted to start my own anyway. I love being creative and having my own space so this is what kept me going through the early days when I had no one reading it! I started my YouTube channel a couple of years later as there was so much to talk about I couldn't get it all down on text and just wanted to chat about it.

What is your desert island beauty product?

I find this such a hard question to answer! I think it would have to be Pommade Divine (available from Cult Beauty) which is like a multi purpose balm. It's amazing as a lip balm but also works great or burns, dry skin, scars... it's just an good all-rounder!

What has been the most rewarding experience since starting your blog and channel?
Lily's Blog Post on Crown brushes >here<

This is going to sound super cheesy but last week a girl came up to me and Anna (ViviannaDoesMakeup) and just made our day. She told us she's a teacher and that her sixth form students love reading our blogs and watching our videos. She went on to tell us what good role models she thinks we are and how good it is that these young girls have us to look up to. I don't often think too much about individuals who might read my blog but this chat literally blew me away and made me realise how positive blogging is.

Do you have a signature make-up look? If so, what is it, if not do you prefer to change your look regularly?

My everyday makeup look is dewy skin, a bit of bronzer, a peachy/pink blush, bronze eyes with black mascara and a tinted lip balm. Pretty basic but works great for me.
QWhat exciting things do you have lined up this year?
Things kind of just pop up unexpectantly so for now I'm just focusing on creating so good and engaging content on both my blog and YouTube and hopefully my readers and viewers will enjoy it!

A huge thank you to Lily for answering all the above questions. Here at Crownbrush HQ we heart Lily!

Crownbrush Professional 88 (01) Eyeshadow Palette SWATCHED!

I have been using this palette since I discovered Crownbrush and I pretty much take it on each make-up job with me. The possibilities with this palette are endless- I use it for lips, eyes, blusher and even body painting!

Mindgame Magazine Body Painting Shoot using the 88 palette.
Photographer: Ryan Handy

The Palette contains 88 different highly pigmented matte eyeshadows however; some do have a satiny finish.

The shadows can be applied with ease using the dual end foam applicators included or using some of your favourite Crownbrush eye shadow brushes depending on what techniques and looks you are achieving.

The shadows are a pressed powder pigmentation and fall out is not an issue upon application. I do recommend using a primer or base only to prolong the wear of these shadows and to make the shadows pop even more or you can apply the eye shadows wet for a deeper, longer lasting effect.

The matte black case contains a mirror and two sponge applicators. The palette is perfect for traveling make-up artists as well as for personal use. The Professional 88 (01) eye shadow palette is only £22.99 available on www.crownbrush.co.uk The palette also comes in Shimmer too!
